A clinician’s clarity and a scientist’s rigor, brought to leadership challenges.
Yara is a physician and executive coach who brings a clinician’s clarity and a scientist’s rigor to leadership challenges. She works with high-performing leaders who know something needs to change but aren’t sure what, or how.
Yara’s style is calm, direct, and grounded in what actually works. She creates space for you to slow down and see what’s really driving a problem, then sends you out with one concrete thing to try. She’s warm and invested in your success, but she won’t let you settle for insight without action. Her goal is lasting behavior change, not just a good conversation.
Yara is Coaching Lead for Northwestern Medicine’s Office of Well-Being, where she built and scaled the health system’s physician coaching program through one-on-one and group-based formats. She serves as Chief Physician Officer and Head of Physician Coaching at Josie, helping clinicians navigate major transitions: pregnancy, parental leave, and return to work. She is also an Associate Professor of Neurology and Clinic Director at Northwestern Medicine, where she designed and leads a simulation-based mastery-learning curriculum for high-stakes performance. She has coached more than 300 leaders, coaches in English and Arabic, and facilitates workshops on the shift from expert to leader, emotional intelligence, and leading through change.
A Chicago mom of two, Yara starts most days with a strength workout and loves exploring new places through their food.
